How to Pass Selection from an OG

http://news.goruck.com/rucking-training/how-to-pass-selection/

I read this article today and made me reflect on how human we all are and that when you think people are super human and unbreakable there is a lot of work that goes on behind the scenes. When I read this article it made me think of a few things. I figured I share with you the highlights on what I got out of this for me.

Well the first thing I resonated with is that we are all capable of great things, we just need to be smart about understanding our own selves and realizing that we are not all created the same.

The second thing I realized is that this world i'm about to enter is not all about being physically fit. Yes you need to meet a standard of physical health but everyone will be brought to their physical limits and the playing field will always be reset.

Having a plan and preparing is important. Be consistent, and be relentless, but at the same time there is no need to over train. It reminded me of a person who is looking to loose weight. If you want to lose weight eat right and do the work. If that means you walk 1 mile a day, which you have never done before, then that is your level of work. Its more than before and it gets your body responding. The point is that it is better to settle into a routine that works then jump into a ridiculous regiment that has a shelf life. Make it a lifestyle adaptation you enjoy and can live with doing forever. Then losing weight will be a side effect.

The last thing beside being relentless, Did i say that already?, is that you need to have an anchor.

You need to have something to drive you and get you up when you are down. Something as realistic and tangible as the basics of life.

All of this will make the physical training come and go as business in a world of getting shit done.

Anyways, that's what I got out of this. You may resonate at a different frequency and get something different out of it. To each their own.
